Day 1 USA-Tallinn
Depart from the US on the overnight flight to Tallinn.
Day 2 Tallinn
On arriving in Tallinn, Estonia's capital, you'll be met at the airport and then driven to your hotel. In the afternoon, you will take a half-day tour of this picturesque old city. You'll begin in the Upper Town of the Old Town-Toompea (Cathedral Hill) where the walking part of the tour begins. Continue with visits to the Russian Orthodox Church and the 13th century Gothic style Dome Cathedral. The Upper Town offers an excellent bird's eye view of the Lower Town. From there, we'll visit the Lower Town. Among the highlights are the Gothic Town Hall (15th century), the Great Guild (15th century), Blackheads Fraternity House (15th century) and a 13th century pharmacy that is still an operating business today. Day 3 Rocca Al Mare Open-Air Museum
This museum located only 4 miles from the center of Tallinn brings together examples of the rural architecture from the 18th and 19th centuries. You will drive through a residential area of apartment houses on the bank of a lake. From there, you will begin your tour on foot. Farmhouses, country pubs, windmills, and chapels will be on display and furnished according to period styles. You'll also be able to buy very fine Estonian handcrafts in the museum's well-priced shop. Your will have the rest of the afternoon free. (B)
Day 4 Tallinn-Island Of Saaremaa
Today we set off for Saaremaa Island. Upon arrival, your guide will meet you at the ferry port in Saaremaa. During the tour, we'll visit the Koguva Museum. Among its many attractions are the Ermu windmill, Karja church, an ancient village and the greatest attractions of them all, a 2500 year old meteorite crater at Lake Kaali. Check-in to your hotel at the end of the day.(B)
Day 5 Island Of Saaremaa-Parnu
After breakfast, you will begin a tour of Kuressaare, Saaremaa Island's principle city. Its attractions includes the medieval Episcopal Castle and the Old Town with its many fine examples of baroque and neo-classical architecture dating from the 17th to the 19th centuries. At the end of the tour you will taken to Parnu. (B)
Day 6 Parnu
Parnu is a resort town dating back to medieval times and is becoming a chic summer center of Estonia. It is also known as Estonia's Summer Capital. In the morning, you'll have an overview of this small town's busy streets, markets, open-air cafes, and beautiful white sandy beaches. At the end of the day, your driver will take you to your hotel in Tartu.
Day 7 Tartu
After breakfast, your guide will meet you at the hotel lobby. Today, you will visit all historical and well-known sites in the Old Town, such as Tome Hill, Vanemuise Theatre and more. Continue to Tartu University, Estonia's main university. This university was founded during the Swedish rule in 1632. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred to Tallinn for your final night.
Day 8 Tallinn-USA
Transfer to the airport for the flight home. (B)
