September 6 - Saturday Vilnius
After change of planes in Copenhagen, you will arrive in Vilnius and transfer to your hotel. A Welcome Dinner will be at one of the Lithuanian Restaurants. Dinner
September 7 - Sunday Vilnius
After breakfast and Holy Mass, you will tour Vilnius. You will visit the beautiful churches, Vilnius University, and Old Town. After lunch you may visit the Cathedral and it's catacombs as well as the Antakalnis Cemetery, the burial sight of most of the latest Lithuania's freedom fighters. The rest of the day is free to explore Vilnius on your own. Breakfast/lunch
September 8 - Monday Vilnius
This morning's tour will take you to Trakai, the Medieval capital of Lithuania, with a restored castle. After lunch, we will continue to Kernave, the ancient site in the Neris valley, the government seat of King Mindaugas 750 years ago. Upon return to Vilnius, enjoy the city on your own. Breakfast/lunch
September 9 - Tuesday Druskininkai
A day trip to Anyksciai, will let you visit Baranauskas Museum, Biliunas homestead and Puntukas located in the beautiful Anyksciu Silelis, immortalized in Baranauskas poem. After lunch, a short visits can be made to Vorutos castle mounts, Vetygalos rock exposures, and admire the most beautiful Lithuanian country side. After hotel check-in rest of the day is free to enjoy Druskininkai on your own. Breakfast/lunch
September 10 - Wednesday Druskininkai
After breakfast and a short walk in the famous spa resort, the tour will continue to Suvalku Trikampis, including Punskas, Seiniai, and Vygriai. You will visit Seiniai with its Cathedral and monument to Baranauskas. In Punskas, the most important Lithuanian Center in Poland with its churches, ethnographic museum, where you will be entertained by one of their folklore groups and enjoy a regional lunch. You will continue to Vygriai, a beautiful region known for its many lakes and the baroque church and monastery that was visited by Pope John Paul in 1999. Upon return to Druskininkai you will have enough time to enjoy the resort on your own. Breakfast/lunch
September 11 - Thursday Kaunas
This morning you will leave for Kaunas, Lithuania's second largest city. On the way, you will stop in Rumsiskes, a unique open-air museum exhibiting farm structures from different regions of Lithuania that were typical during the XVII-XX centuries. After lunch at the Tavern, you will arrive in Kaunas in the afternoon. Before checking into your hotel, you will visit Kaunas Old Town, admire Kaunas Castle, the Cathedral and walk through the center square, Rotuse. After hotel check-in, the evening is free. Breakfast/lunch
September 12 - Friday Kaunas
Today you will tour Kaunas, visiting the newly restored highest church, Prisikelimo Church, Ciurlionis Museum, War Museum or Devils' Museum that are near the tomb of the Unknown Soldier. The rest of the day is free. Breakfast/lunch
September 13 - Saturday Palanga
This morning the tour will take you to Lithuania's seaport, Klaipeda. After a short visit, the ferry will take you to Neringa, where you will enjoy Juodkrante with its famous Witches Mountain, and Nida with the largest Dune of the region. You will return to Palanga, and after hotel check-in, enjoy the resort on your own. Breakfast/lunch
September 14 - Sunday Palanga
Today you will visit Zemaitija, or Samogitia. The first stop will be Zemaiciu Kalvarija, with the church that has the miraculous picture of Our Blessed Virgin Mary, and the Station of the Cross on its country side. The 21 Stations of the Cross have a chapel build at each one of its sites and is one of the most visited reverent places in Lithuania. Next you will visit Telsiai, the capital city of Samogitia, with its many churches, the most famous one being the baroque style with classical influences Cathedral. Depending on the tour schedule, Holy Mass will be either at Zemaiciu Kalvarija or Telsiai Cathedral. Upon return to Palanga the rest of the day is free. Breakfast/lunch
September 15 - Monday Siauliai
This morning you will depart for Siluva and partake in the 400 year Jubilee Celebration. This day is dedicated to all Lithuanians coming from around the world, "Iseivijos Diena". Before arriving in Siauliai for an overnight, you will stop at the Hill of Crosses, the famous hill where thousands of crosses were places by people in thanksgiving or asking God to grand special favors. Upon hotel check-in in Siauliai, the rest of the day is free. Breakfast/lunch
September 16 - Tuesday Vilnius
After breakfast you will depart Siauliai and arrive in Vilnius around noon. After lunch we will try to visit Lithuania's White House, Prezidentura, where President Adamkus and his cabinet works. The rest of the day is free. Breakfast/lunch
September 17 - Wednesday Vilnius
Today is free. You may want to go to Gediminas Castle or visit one of the famous Vilnius Museums. In the evening there will be a Farewell Dinner. Breakfast/dinner
September 18 - Thursday
This morning we will say goodbye to our special visit to Lithuania and depart for home in USA.
